ABOUT:

Josh Pennington, the Owner of Charles Proper & Co, is a mastered professional in both hair cutting and hair coloring. With over 20 years of expertise, he has honed his skills by training under renown hair brands, working backstage at New York fashion week, and studying various looks from around the world.

He started his career in Uptown Charlotte after a season ending injury playing baseball at Belmont Abbey College. Jump-starting his career in the haircare industry at a young age, Josh indulged in a variety of techniques in both hair cutting and coloring, taking inspiration and learning from various iconic hair mentors from around the world.

Josh believes that a great haircut should be versatile and look appealing even when styled with minimal effort, such as rough drying or air drying without too much product. While blow drying has its place, he encourages clients to embrace their natural hair to feel confident in their everyday look.Josh is focused on the principle that a good haircut evolves over time. he believe that clients should enjoy the different phases and lengths their hair goes through, allowing them to appreciate the beauty in every stage of their hair journey.
